A Meta-theoretical framework for theory building in project management

Theory building is a central goal in most research disciplines, and it difficult to overstate the importance of theory endeavor. This paper builds on study several disciplines so as to: (1) synthesize into framework, (2) support development evaluation project management research. Four types theory, prescriptive, descriptive, predictive, practice, are presented. 'classic' papers used retrospective illustration applying framework. The concludes with broader discussion regarding ongoing debate about better discipline.
